Generic Early Diagnosis "Hope" Campaign
Description of the campaign:
The campaign aim was to assess whether a generic cancer campaign – not focused on a specific tumour type or particular symptoms - is an effective way of raising awareness of the benefits of early detection and encouraging positive intentions to act on possible cancer symptoms. The campaign aims to help people overcome fear and fatalistic attitudes to appropriate presentation to their GP if they experience unusual changes to their health.
Campaign involved:
• Outdoor advertising / press ads
• Community outreach from CRUK nurses in community settings, both indoor and through the CRUK roadshow vehicle
• Personalised Direct Mail to the target audience
