About the International Cancer Control Partnership (ICCP)

We are a group of organizations whose members were already individually working to support country cancer control planning.

The International Cancer Control Partnership (ICCP), formed in November 2012, is a collaboration of organizations supporting country-level cancer control planning efforts. By joining forces, these organizations align their efforts to address identified priorities, optimise their collective resources, and minimise duplication

You can explore the ICCP one-pager for an overview of the partnership and its activities, as well as the executive summary of ICCP Strategic Plan 2024-2029. Additionally, a collection of ICCP related publications, reports and blog posts authored by ICCP partners or referencing the ICCP partnership and its portal is available for consultation.

As a collaborative partnership, the ICCP aims to support all countries in addressing their response to the challenges of developing and implementing NCCPs by providing guidance throughout the entire cycle, including planning, development, implementation, and monitoring and evaluation.

The ICCP’s long-term goal is for all countries to develop and implement high-quality cancer control plans that are integrated with their broader non-communicable disease (NCD) control strategies. The ICCP emphasizes that prioritizing cancer is critical to achieving the NCD targets outlined in the Global Monitoring Framework on NCDs, the WHO Global Action Plan on NCDs and the UN Sustainable Development Goals.

The ICCP works to showcase opportunities and foster best practice partnerships across non-communicable diseases, build new synergies with existing health programs and put high level NCD commitments into actionable practice through the following:

Bi-directional learning

Convening a bi-directional learning community of practice for cancer planners to learn from each other and from regional and global experts regarding NCCP implementation.

Conducting periodic global reviews of National Cancer Control Plans to better understand the current state of cancer control planning globally, and identify areas for further study to strengthen effectiveness in planning.
