08 Oct 2025

Health authorities from across the Americas have endorsed a new 2025–2030 Action Plan for the Prevention and Control of Noncommunicable Diseases (NCDs) during the 62nd Directing Council of the Pan American Health Organization (PAHO). The plan represents a pivotal milestone in addressing the Region’s leading causes of death and disability.

The initiative seeks to accelerate efforts to reduce the impact of NCDs and improve the quality of life for millions affected by cardiovascular diseases, cancer, diabetes, and chronic respiratory diseases, primarily through the strengthening of primary health care systems and the implementation of effective, sustainable interventions.
