20 Feb 2026

On 4 February 2026, marking World Cancer Day, the French National Cancer Institute (INCa) unveiled the second 2026–2030 action plan of the national cancer strategy, marking a new phase in France’s long‑term fight against cancer. The roadmap focuses on five strategic priorities and five key population groups, building on the progress of the 2021–2025 cycle, during which a large majority of planned actions were initiated.

Developed through broad stakeholder consultation and backed by over €1.7 billion in funding, the plan aims to strengthen prevention, expand screening, improve patient support, and accelerate research and innovation. Its launch on World Cancer Day underscores France’s continued commitment to reducing the burden of cancer nationwide.
