The third edition of the Global Atlas of Palliative Care is now available on the ICCP Portal. Developed by the Worldwide Hospice Palliative Care Alliance in collaboration with the World Health Organization, the Atlas provides a comprehensive overview of the current state of palliative care worldwide and tracks progress made in recent years.
The report highlights substantial growth in specialist palliative care services and the number of patients reached, while also underscoring the increasing global need for palliative care. It explores innovations in service delivery, integration into health systems, and the ongoing challenges related to access to medicines, education, policy support, and sustainable resources. The Atlas reinforces the importance of palliative care as a people-centred, cost-effective approach to improving quality of life and reducing suffering worldwide.
