Guinea launches new national cancer control plan 2026–2030

25 May 2026

Guinea has launched its new National Strategic Plan for Cancer Control (2026–2030), marking a significant step in addressing the growing cancer burden in the country. Recognising cancer as a major public health challenge with increasing incidence and mortality, the plan provides a comprehensive framework to strengthen prevention, early detection, treatment and supportive care. Aligned with national development priorities, the Sustainable Development Goals, and international best practices, the strategy reflects a strong commitment to building a more resilient, equitable and high-performing health system. Developed through a rigorous, consultative process with support from key partners, the plan also aims to mobilise multi-sectoral engagement to reduce the social and economic impact of cancer.

The full plan is now available on the ICCP Portal in French here.
