Jordan launches new 2026–2030 National Cancer Control Strategy

26 Feb 2026

Jordan announced the launch of its National Cancer Control Strategy 2026–2030, a milestone effort led by the Ministry of Health in partnership with WHO, international collaborators, and national stakeholders. The strategy responds to cancer’s rising toll, now the country’s second leading cause of death, and outlines a unified approach spanning prevention, early detection, diagnosis and treatment, palliative care, surveillance, and research. Priorities include stronger governance and financing structures, expanded breast and colorectal screening, national clinical guidelines, improved access to oncology medicines, nationwide integration of palliative care, and modernization of the cancer registry. Aligned with Jordan’s Economic Modernization Vision and global frameworks, the plan aims to reduce mortality, improve quality of life, and ensure equitable access to high‑quality cancer services for all people in Jordan.

The plan is available on the ICCP portal here.
