A new article on the Cancer Planners Forum has been published in the International Journal of Cancer, highlighting the key discussions and outcomes of the 2026 Forum while reflecting on the achievements of its inaugural edition.
The article explores how the Forum has evolved into a unique global platform bringing together cancer planners, policymakers and international partners to strengthen national cancer control planning and implementation. It also showcases the important role of the International Cancer Control Partnership (ICCP) in supporting countries throughout the development, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of National Cancer Control Plans (NCCPs). Emphasizing that effective cancer control requires moving beyond planning to action, the article highlights the continued importance of NCCP implementation, governance, financing and accountability in achieving sustainable and equitable improvements in cancer outcomes worldwide.
