A new study published in eClinicalMedicine uses data from the ICCP 2023 Global Review to examine how national cancer strategies address human-centred care. The analysis of 156 national plans found that issues such as psychosocial support, equity, financial protection and patient engagement are often underrepresented, particularly in lower-income countries. The findings informed the Lancet Oncology Commission on the Human Crisis in Cancer, reinforcing the need to strengthen human-centred approaches in cancer control planning worldwide.
