Refreshed NOURISHING policy database with new features

24 Aug 2016

The NOURISHING framework brings together ten policy areas across three domains: food environment, food system and behavior change communication. The framework is accompanied by a regularly updated database, providing an extensive overview of implemented government policy actions from around the world. It is a tool designed to help policymakers worldwide to:

  • identify where action is needed to promote healthy diets, reduce obesity and other non-communicable diseases, including cancer
  • select and tailor options suitable for different populations
  • assess if approach is sufficiently comprehensive

Updated database

The NOURISHING policy database has new features to make it more user friendly and improve accessibility. The new features include:

  • Single-country filter option
  • Easier overview of the policy domains, making the information more readily available
  • Better functionality of the NOURISHING tool on mobile and tablet devices

The policy database has been updated with 18 new and 13 updated policies. It includes policy actions from three new countries: Bahrain, Nigeria and Qatar.
