The World Breastfeeding Week is celebrated 1-7 of August. This year's campaign "BREASTFEEDING: Foundation of Life" focuses on:
- preventing malnutrition in all its forms,
- ensuring food security, even in times of crisis,
- breaking the cycle of poverty.
The #WBW2018 campaign materials mention links between breastfeeding and reduced risk of breast and ovarian cancers for mothers.
